From an early age dance and exercise
was an extremely important element in my life.
I took up Latin and Ballroom dance as
young as ten, and gradually worked my way through all the
levels to the highest standard of gold.
Years of exercise in local gyms and
leisure centres followed, as did marriage and my three
children. Yet somehow I always managed to find the time to regularly
exercise and keep myself fit and healthy.
Finding myself made redundant five
years ago, after being in the same trading company for
over seventeen years, was a huge wake up call! It was time
to change my life to do something that I enjoyed doing. I
had a wealth of experience gained over the past
twenty-five years of exercise and felt I was in a position
to know what worked and what didn’t. I wanted to help
others and give them some of the experience that I had
gained.
I decided then that I was now going to
train to teach something I had a huge passion for,
exercise.
I qualified first to teach exercise to
music, but my real love was for Pilates.
I had been lucky enough when I first
discovered Pilates to have an excellent teacher who
unfortunately moved to another location,
and I personally found it increasing difficult to find
another Pilates teacher who held her knowledge and gave us
students such an interesting and beneficial class.
I am now a Level 3 qualified Pilates teacher,
and always give all of my clients a well structured
lesson, and always take into account any injuries or
illness they may have. I have a huge interest in all of
the people that I teach, as I wish for them to gain the
best out of a form of exercise namely Pilates which cannot
I feel be beaten !
